Underwood 9mm Luger Xtreme Defender 68gr +P Solid Monolithic Self Defense Ammo 1800 FPS 20/box
Underwood
380 +P ammo is loaded to higher pressure levels, therefore please make sure that your firearm has the necessary chamber support for this round. If you have any doubts of whether or not your firearm is suitable for this ammunition please have a gunsmith inspect it, or you are more than welcome to contact us.
Through our testing of this particular lot of ammunition we identified a failure-to-fire rate of 0.25% (equivalent to 1 out of 400 rounds) due to light primer strikes. That failure rate does not meet our high standards of reliability for personal defense ammunition, however this ammunition is a great option for practicing at the range. All sales on blemish ammunition are final and no returns will be allowed.
Blemish ammunition may have either minor cosmetic imperfections caused by the manufacturing processes or an average velocity slightly less than the published velocity for the particular load. These imperfections do not create functional issues, but may result in slight performance variations from our standard ammunition. The cosmetic imperfections may include: discoloration of the case or projectile, small divot or scratch on the case, projectile or primer, deformation of the projectiles tip or missing polymer tip. Brass may not be nickel plated and the color of coated bullets may not match the product picture. All sales on blemish ammunition are final and no returns will be allowed.
The Xtreme Defender is based on the Xtreme Defense Fluid Transfer Monolithic (FTM®) family of projectiles. The EXD projectile has optimized flute geometry, total weight, and velocity to achieve a penetration depth up to 18 inches* with a permanent wound cavity (PWC) that is just simply enormous; no expanding hollowpoint comes close to achieving anywhere near this collective volume of wound cavity. The non-expanding solid copper body ensures that common materials such as wallboard, sheet metal, and automotive glass will not affect the Permanent Wound Channel or capabilities of the projectile, unlike traditional hollowpoints.

This round offers:
⦁ Flutes that force fluid inward to build hydraulic energy and expel it radially.
⦁ Consistent penetration and wounding performance despite encountering barriers via monolithic material and non-expanding design.
⦁ Lightweight – high energy, low recoil
⦁ It does not rely on deformation for resistance in soft tissue, thus eliminating concerns of over-penetration resulting from a lack of expansion.
⦁ Barrier Blind - minimal surface area to increase the force at the point of contact and sharp cutting edges that defeat barriers
⦁ Lead-Free
⦁ Streamlined manufacturing process over original CNC design.
Nickel-plated brass casings, our nickel plating process provides several key benefits, not limited to but including; improved feeding in all actions of firearms enhanced corrosion resistance over traditional brass, improved cosmetics, and ease of cleanup during reloading. Nickel-plated casings will not tarnish like brass during storage or when in contact with foreign materials such as leather, moisture, and other metals.
As with all of Underwood Ammo™ rounds, we utilize flash suppressed powder so that your vision will not be compromised if it becomes necessary to use your firearm in low light.
While taking advantage of our state of the art testing equipment, this high-performance ammunition is field tested using popular, real firearms that our customers are most likely to own out in the real world with all the elements you would experience.
This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.
All Ammunition Sales are Final. There are no exceptions.
For safety reasons, we will not accept ammunition returns. Ammunition must ship FedEx ground. Due to safety, legal, and regulatory reasons, Ammunition may not be returned. It is your responsibility, as a customer, to know what cartridge your firearm uses.
